The Got Faith Music Festival comes to the American Bank Center Arena on April 29, and what many people do not know is that while hip hop and rock music are continuing to fill up arenas, so is the contemporary Christian music scene. The positive message and contagious energy in a show like this are like no other, and the lineup for this April 29 show is pretty spectacular.
Newsboys has been a favorite for more than two decades. Newsboys’ live performances continue to sell out venues across the country, and the band has sold more than eight million units, amassing eight Gold certifications, 33 No. 1 radio hits, four GRAMMY nominations, two American Music Award nominations and multiple Dove Awards. One song in particular called “God’s Not Dead” is a chart topping, Platinum-certified single, and it inspired Pure Flix’s 2014 hit film of the same name. Newsboys returned to the big screen on April 1, 2016 for the highly anticipated Pure Flix release, “God’s Not Dead 2.” Also, the iconic group will showcase hits from their unparalleled career and forthcoming new studio recording.
Tenth Avenue North made their national debut in 2008 on Reunion Records with “Over and Underneath,” which spawned the hits “Love is Here,” “By Your Side” and “Hold My Heart.” Tenth Avenue North took home the Gospel Music Association Dove Award in 2009 for New Artist of the Year, and in 2010, “By Your Side” was named Song of the Year. The band gained further momentum with 2010’s “The Light Meets the Dark” and “The Struggle” in 2012, which continued to populate the radio and the church with such memorable songs as “Healing Begins,” “You Are More,” Losing” and “Worn.” The Dove Award-winning band’s fourth studio album, titled “Cathedrals,” is a collection of well-crafted songs that inspire community, encourage accountability and celebrate the fact we are not alone.
Hawk Nelson is a powerhouse pop rock band that has won the hearts of thousands since their debut release in 2004. Hawk Nelson has released seven studio projects (“Letters to the President,” “Smile It’s the End of the World,” “Hawk Nelson is My Friend,” “Live Life Loud,” “Crazy Love,” “Made” and “Diamonds”). Hawk Nelson continues to celebrate their newest release, “Diamonds,” which has produced their No. 1 radio single with “Drops in the Ocean.” The debut single from their recent project was their first single at the top of Billboard’s Christian AC Indicator chart – where it spent nine weeks at No. 1.
I am they has roots as a worship team based out of a community of various area churches. The band’s six-piece sound is propelled by versatile musicianship and anchored by three-part vocal harmonies. Through a unique series of events, including opening for a few CCM acts, as well as winning a band competition at Spirit West Coast, I Am They gained attention within the industry, culminating in a major label/publishing deal with Provident Label Group.
Audio Adrenaline has been one of Christian music’s best-loved bands. They have garnered two GRAMMY Awards for Best Rock Gospel Album (“Worldwide” and “Until My Heart Caves In”); five GMA Dove Awards; a Gold-certified recording (“Bloom”); and 14 No. 1 Christian radio singles, including signature songs “Big House,” “Get Down,” “Kings and Queens” and “Hands And Feet.”
Ryan Stevenson’s full-length debut, “Fresh Start,” was released to critical acclaim in September and includes the multi-week No. 1 “Not Forgotten” (feat. TobyMac), as well as the recent hit “All Yours.” He was also nominated for a 2014 GRAMMY Award as co-writer of TobyMac’s hit single, “Speak Life.”
OBB consists of brothers Zach, Jacob and Nich, who came into the spotlight in 2013 with a GMA Dove Award nomination. Signed by Curb Records in 2012 after gaining national notoriety on CBS Early Show’s “Singing Family Face-Off,” OBB’s full-length debut, “Bright Side,” which was released last year, features the No. 1 hit title-cut and the current Top 10 single, “Up Close And Personal.”
Kairy Marquez is a bilingual worship leader, songwriter and speaker. She wrote her hit single, “Rey de Poder,” back in 2014, and she has been recognized as one of the voices with a future in inspirational Christian music by the Rome Reports.
