On behalf of the American Cancer Society, we are pleased to announce “South Texas Strong,” the 29th annual Cattle Baron’s Ball to be held March 28, 2015, at the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program, Nueces Delta Preserve (the former McGregor Ranch) near Odem. The incomparable Dwight Yoakam will be headlining this spectacular event, complete with dinner by Don Strange of Texas, exciting auctions and lively gaming areas.

This ranch-style gala, a perennial favorite, is unique because of its location and relaxed atmosphere, combined with its proven ability to raise funds for a deserving cause.

“South Texas Strong” characterizes both the area we serve and the great people who live here. We cover a very large portion of South Texas. One must be pretty “South Texas Strong” to settle and continue to inhabit this particular portion of the globe. We wish to honor the many Texans diagnosed with cancer who have battled and won – the fighters, the hard heads, the overcomers, the survivors and the “South Texas Strong” who have fought and continue to fight this awful disease.

Cattle Baron’s Ball is an organization of volunteers who work together to support your local American Cancer Society and its fight against cancer. Since our inception in 1986, we have proudly contributed more than $7.2 million to local and national cancer support and services, as well as groundbreaking cancer research.

The American Cancer Society has worked relentlessly for more than 100 years to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Together with millions of supporters worldwide, we can help people stay well, help people get well, find cures and fight back against cancer.

To our loyal supporters, we send our heartfelt appreciation for your continued support and look forward to seeing you again soon. To our new friends, we thank you for your consideration, and we hope to call you a partner at this year’s event as we work together to eliminate cancer. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and from the 14.5 million survivors in the United States who will celebrate another birthday this year, especially the “South Texas Strong.” Yours Truly, Your 2015 Cattle Baron’s Ball Chairmen, Michelle and Matt Ezell and Samantha and Dos Gates
